JANUARY 28 – 29, 2012

SEMINAR w/ Mark Polomchak

Mr. Polomchak is one of the most sought after teachers at every conference I have attended.  His relaxed teaching style and sense of humor make every class a delight. Please consider joining us for this event.  Download Registration Form.  Check out the CACF Facebook page for additional information.

The Polomchak seminar will be held at the Sausalita Clubhouse, 695 Sausalita Boulevard, Casselberry, FL 32707 from 10:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. on January 28 and 29, 2012. The following is a list of Mark’s basic supplies.  I don’t know if we will use all these, but bring what you have.  I believe the shaved handled brush is a way to score the paper for some of his designs.  You may be able to substitute another tool for this purpose such as a brush with an angled handled end.

Brushes:

Large Wash Brush (flat or round)  used for wetting surface, so you could use an old house painting brush, 3/4 ” -1″ nylon (flat) shaved handle, #12 round, #4 script liner

Miscellaneous supplies:

Kitchen sponge, Sea sponge, Tooth Brush, Spray Bottle, Watercolor palette, container for water (can be coffee can), Cotton towel, graphite (non-wax) paper for transfer, Red  ballpoint pen, 1/2″ masking tape, and paper towels.

Next meeting, February 4, 2012

Hummingbird Domino Pendant
designed and taught by
Benita Woodson
How many of you have admired the domino necklace with the hummingbird that Benita Woodson wears?  I know I have and if you attend the February workshop, you will leave with your own hummingbird necklace.
Benita is furnishing the pattern, picture, instructions, and prepared surface which she has sanded, basecoated and attached a bail for $5.00.  So you can bring a black cord necklace and leave wearing a finished piece of jewelry.  Of course you will want to varnish it later at home.
Supplies to bring: a small piece of tracing paper, white graphite paper, stylus, water container, and very small brushes, liners, rounds, tiny flats, whatever you have, and either a wet or dry palette.  Paint colors are: Black, White, Citrus Green, Cardinal Red, Alizarin Crimson, Avocado and Metallic Inca Gold.  Some of these colors are Folk Art and some are Americana.  Do not go out and buy paint.  If you have some of these you can bring them and what you don’t have Benita will furnish.
